The First Weeks
Just next to the front door before any work
Here are some “before” photos and work in progress photos.
Small bed at the front in need of a big weed!
Rich ordering some tools while admiring his well prepped plinth (notice the difference from the title photo already?)
Rich getting to work on the pointing after finally sourcing the correct lime (it was like getting your hands on gold dust)
Some wood primer that we had brought from home. Can you tell we haven’t needed it for a few years;)
One of my favourite outside features is this mud scraper next to the door. Here is is after sanding and before a coat of hammerite.
The house came with a name! This sign was very well fixed to the wall so I didn’t dare try to get it off, opting for sanding and painting in situ.
There are may hooks for hanging baskets and the like on the front of the house, all in need of a good like of paint to prevent rust.
And perhaps most importantly, we got the kettle set up, so we can enjoy a well-earned hot drink as we work.
I hope to see you soon with some after results and pics!
Catherine
Wow - it looks like you and Rich are hard at work already. Well done with that house sign. You have made such a difference with it. I so glad that you have got the kettle up and running :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes I think having a kettle is v. Import on a project like this😂
